Patrick Sam Yue is a Chartered Accountant, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Secretaries, an Associate of the Securities Institute of Australia and a member of the Institute of Company Directors. He started his career in accountancy in London with Coopers & Lybrand where he worked for eight years until 1982. He came to Australia in 1985, after having worked in Africa and the Middle East, when he joined the finance industry before moving on to the resources industry in 1987. His financial management and corporate experience in Australia spans more than 15 years in senior financial executive and company secretary positions within listed entities Eastern Star Gas Limited, Sydney Gas Ltd, Minerals Corporation Limited, Beach Petroleum Limited and Claremont Petroleum NL.
